VODAFONE IDEA Plunges by 6%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.4%

VODAFONE IDEA share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 35.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 14,581 (up 0.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are VODAFONE IDEA (down 5.5%) and SOUTH IND.BANK (down 8.0%).

SUN PHARMA ADV. RES. (up 12.4%) and ITI LTD (up 8.3%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, VODAFONE IDEA has moved down from Rs 101 to Rs 35, registering a loss of Rs 65 (down 64.9%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 15,259 to 14,581, loss of 678 points (down 4.4%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were NIIT TECHNOLOGIES (up 86.8%), L&T TECHONOLOGY SERVICES (up 66.4%) and L&T INFOTECH LTD (up 63.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 36,701 (up 0.7%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are RELIANCE IND. (up 3.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SUN PHARMA and ICICI BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,987 (up 0.5%). RELIANCE IND. (up 3.4%) and SUN PHARMA (up 2.7%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 35,260 to 36,701, registering a gain of 1,441 points (up 3.9%).

VODAFONE IDEA Financial Update...

VODAFONE IDEA net profit down at Rs 50 billion for the quarter ended September 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 13 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 17.7% to Rs 76.6 billion during the period as against Rs 65.1 billion in July-September 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, VODAFONE IDEA reported 446.6% increase in net profit to Rs 44.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 8.2 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 20.5% to Rs 283 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VODAFONE IDEA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 5.8x.
