BHEL surges by 5%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 2.5%

BHEL share price has Zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 79.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index is at 19,085 (Up 2.5%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index today are BHEL (up 5.07%) and RELIANCE NAVAL & ENGINEERING LTD (up 7.83%).

SADBHAV ENGINEERING (down 0.13%) and BEML LTD. (down 0.78%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BHEL has moved down from Rs 101 to Rs 79, registering a loss of Rs 22 (down 22.03%)

BHEL Financial Update...

BHEL net profit grew 163.8% YoY to Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended December 2017, compared to a profit of Rs 935 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 104.8% to Rs 66.3 billion during the period as against Rs 63.3 billion in October-December 2016.

For the year ended March 2017, BHEL reported 66.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 4.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 7.2 billion during FY16.

Revenue of the company grew 110.6% to Rs 295 billion during FY17.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BHEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 34.1x.
