DISH TV Plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 1.0%

DISH TV share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 37.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,008 (down 1.0%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are DISH TV (down 5.0%) and BOMBAY DYEING (down 5.0%).

RURAL ELECTRIFICATION (up 9.6%) and POWER FINANCE CORPORATION (up 6.7%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, DISH TV has moved down from Rs 67 to Rs 37, registering a loss of Rs 30 (down 45.1%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,105 to 15,008, registering a gain of 903 points (up 6.4%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were VINATI ORGANICS (up 99.1%), ADANI POWER (up 91.0%) and BATA INDIA (up 90.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,017 (down 1.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are NTPC (up 2.4%), ONGC (up 1.8%) and POWER GRID (up 1.7%). Other gainer include COAL INDIA (up 0.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ONGC and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,396 (down 1.1%). IOC (up 2.7%) and ONGC (up 1.9%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 33,006 to 38,017, registering a gain of 5,011 points (up 14.4%).

DISH TV Financial Update...

DISH TV net profit declined 4365.1% YoY to Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended December 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 36 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 104.8% to Rs 15.2 billion during the period as against Rs 7.4 billion in October-December 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, DISH TV reported 203.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 849.0 million compared to net profit of Rs 821.0 million during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 53.7% to Rs 46 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of DISH TV, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 20.4x.
