SPICEJET Surges by 12%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.2%

SPICEJET share price has zoomed 12% and is presently trading at Rs 153.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,571 (up 0.2%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today is SPICEJET (up 12.1%).

BASF INDIA and CIPLA are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, SPICEJET has moved up from Rs 133 to Rs 153, registering a gain of Rs 20 (up 12.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved up from 14,751 to 15,571, registering a gain of 820 points (up 5.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI POWER (up 108.9%), BALRAMPUR CHINI (up 92.9%) and VINATI ORGANICS (up 88.9%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are RELIANCE IND. (up 1.7%), ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.3%) and AXIS BANK (up 1.0%). Other gainers include ICICI BANK (up 0.6%) and ONGC (up 0.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are WIPRO and TATA MOTORS.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,856 (up 0.2%). RELIANCE IND. (up 1.8%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 34,305 to 39,487, registering a gain of 5,182 points (up 14.8%).

SPICEJET Financial Update...

SPICEJET net profit down at Rs 551 million for the quarter ended December 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 19.3% to Rs 24.9 billion during the period as against Rs 20.8 billion in October-December 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, SPICEJET reported 43.4% increase in net profit to Rs 5.6 billion compared to net profit of Rs 3.9 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 26.0% to Rs 78 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SPICEJET, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 26.9x.
