ARVIND Plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 1.5%

ARVIND share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 77.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 14,707 (down 1.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are ARVIND (down 5.1%) and EICHER MOTOR (down 7.9%).

GE T&D INDIA (up 3.7%) and EDELWEISS FINANCIAL (up 2.9%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, ARVIND has moved down from Rs 429 to Rs 77, registering a loss of Rs 352 (down 82.0%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 14,833 to 14,707, loss of 126 points (down 0.8%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were BALRAMPUR CHINI (up 104.3%), VINATI ORGANICS (up 91.4%) and BATA INDIA (up 74.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 37,584 (down 1.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are HUL (up 0.8%), HDFC (up 0.8%) and INFOSYS (up 0.3%). Other gainer include COAL INDIA (up 0.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are INFOSYS and HDFC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,300 (down 1.3%). TITAN (up 1.3%) and BHARTI INFRATEL (up 1.1%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 35,246 to 37,584, registering a gain of 2,338 points (up 5.1%).

ARVIND Financial Update...

ARVIND net profit down at Rs 404 million for the quarter ended December 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 785 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 42.2% to Rs 16.8 billion during the period as against Rs 29.1 billion in October-December 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, ARVIND reported 0.1% decrease in net profit to Rs 3.4 billion compared to net profit of Rs 3.4 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 16.9% to Rs 108 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ARVIND, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 6.9x.
