IOC Plunges by 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 2.6%

IOC share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 151.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS Index is at 14,452 (down 2.6%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS Index today are IOC (down 5.0%) and ONGC (down 5.3%).

INDRAPRASTHA GAS (up 0.9%) is among the top gainer today.

Over the last one year, IOC has moved down from Rs 155 to Rs 151, registering a loss of Rs 4 (down 2.6%)..

The BSE OIL & GAS has moved up from 13,597 to 14,452, registering a gain of 855 points (up 6.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS Index stocks during this same period were RELIANCE IND. (up 30.2%), INDRAPRASTHA GAS (up 17.9%) and PETRONET LNG (up 13.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 39,476 (down 1.8%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are YES BANK (up 6.0%), HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 2.0%) and TCS (up 0.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and HCL TECHNOLOGIES.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,772 (down 1.8%). YES BANK (up 6.1%) and HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 2.1%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 35,575 to 39,476, registering a gain of 3,901 points (up 9.1%).

IOC Financial Update...

IOC net profit stood at Rs 57 billion for the quarter ended March 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 9.9% to Rs 1471.3 billion during the period as against Rs 1633.3 billion in January-March 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, IOC reported 10.0% increase in net profit to Rs 217.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 197.5 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 13.6% to Rs 5,155 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of IOC, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 8.9x.
