TATA STEEL Surges by 5%; BSE METAL Index Up 2.1%

TATA STEEL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 366.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL Index is at 8,932 (up 2.1%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE METAL Index today is TATA STEEL (up 5.1%).

COAL INDIA (down 2.2%) and NALCO (down 4.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, TATA STEEL has moved down from Rs 569 to Rs 366, registering a loss of Rs 203 (down 35.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL has moved down from 12,916 to 8,932, loss of 3,984 points (down 30.9%) during the last 12 months.

TATA STEEL Financial Update...

TATA STEEL net profit down at Rs 6 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 17 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 12.8% to Rs 359.5 billion during the period as against Rs 412.2 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, TATA STEEL reported 101.6% increase in net profit to Rs 81.1 billion compared to net profit of Rs 40.2 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 13.3% to Rs 1,330 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TATA STEEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 5.5x.
