SAIL Plunges by 5%; BSE METAL Index Down 3.1%

SAIL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 32.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL Index is at 8,448 (down 3.1%).

Among the top losers in the BSE METAL Index today are SAIL (down 5.0%) and COAL INDIA (down 5.1%).

SAIL Financial Update...

SAIL net profit down at Rs 688 million for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 6 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 6.4% to Rs 148.2 billion during the period as against Rs 158.4 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, SAIL reported 78.3% decrease in net profit to Rs 5.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 27.3 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 18.3% to Rs 590 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 7.3x.
