BSE Sensex Surges 1,061 Points; SBI Among Top Gainers

The BSE Sensex has surged 1,061 points to 33,839 (up 2.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are SBI (up 12.2%), SUN PHARMA (up 11.0%) and HDFC (up 7.9%). Other gainers include TATA STEEL (up 6.7%) and ICICI BANK (up 4.6%).

NESTLE (down 3.9%) and ASIAN PAINTS (down 3.2%) are among the top losers today.

In the meantime, the NSE Nifty Index is up 269 points to 9,900 (up 2.0%).

The top gainers in the NSE Nifty Index include include SUN PHARMA (up 12.4%), SBI (up 11.7%) and BPCL (up 10.7%). Other gainers include HDFC (up 7.0%) and TATA STEEL (up 6.3%).

Over the last one year, the BSE Sensex has moved up from Rs 37,536 to Rs 33,839, registering a gain of Rs -3,697 (up -10.7%)..

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks during this same period were BHARTI AIRTEL (up 49.3%), NESTLE (up 43.8%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 41.8%).
