AKZO NOBEL Plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 4.2%

AKZO NOBEL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 2,300.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 12,631 (down 4.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are AKZO NOBEL (down 5.1%) and MARUTI SUZUKI (down 5.4%).

YES BANK (up 42.9%) and VODAFONE IDEA (up 10.8%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, AKZO NOBEL has moved up from Rs 1,801 to Rs 2,300, registering a gain of Rs 499 (up 27.7%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 14,974 to 12,631, loss of 2,343 points (down 15.6%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 197.6%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 97.9%) and NAVIN FLUORINE (up 91.2%).

The BSE Sensex is at 33,103 (down 4.7%).

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 9,593 (down 4.3%). YES BANK (up 51.9%) and SUN PHARMA (up 0.1%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 37,752 to 33,103, registering a loss of 4,649 points (down 13.90%).

AKZO NOBEL Financial Update...

AKZO NOBEL net profit stood at Rs 770 million for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 604 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 7.2% to Rs 7.3 billion during the period as against Rs 7.8 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, AKZO NOBEL reported 3.5% increase in net profit to Rs 2.1 billion compared to net profit of Rs 2.0 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 4.5% to Rs 29 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of AKZO NOBEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 40.7x.
