GAIL Plunges by 6%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 1.3%

GAIL share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 81.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS Index is at 10,589 (down 1.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS Index today is GAIL (down 5.5%).

HPCL (up 5.7%) and OIL INDIA (up 2.1%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, GAIL has moved down from Rs 180 to Rs 81, registering a loss of Rs 99 (down 55.1%)..

The BSE OIL & GAS has moved down from 15,187 to 10,589, loss of 4,598 points (down 30.3%) during the last 12 months.

GAIL Financial Update...

GAIL net profit down at Rs 13 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 17 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 10.2% to Rs 177.7 billion during the period as against Rs 197.9 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, GAIL reported 24.3% increase in net profit to Rs 57.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 46.5 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 39.4% to Rs 762 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of GAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 7.0x.
