COAL INDIA Plunges by 10%; BSE 500 Index Down 7.0%

COAL INDIA share price has plunged 10% and is presently trading at Rs 133.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 10,739 (down 7.0%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are COAL INDIA (down 10.1%) and BAJAJ FINSERV (down 12.8%).

D. B. CORP (up 5.6%) and ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 3.8%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, COAL INDIA has moved down from Rs 244 to Rs 133, registering a loss of Rs 111 (down 45.5%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 15,069 to 10,739, loss of 4,330 points (down 28.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 227.7%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 79.1%) and J.B.CHEMICALS (up 50.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 27,773 (down 6.8%).

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,099 (down 6.2%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,095 to 27,773, registering a loss of 10,322 points (down 29.41%).

COAL INDIA Financial Update...

COAL INDIA net profit down at Rs 39 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 46 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 7.4% to Rs 231.9 billion during the period as against Rs 250.5 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, COAL INDIA reported 148.2% increase in net profit to Rs 174.6 billion compared to net profit of Rs 70.4 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 12.6% to Rs 929 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of COAL INDIA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 4.4x.
