VOLTAS Plunges by 7%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 4.6%

VOLTAS share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 548.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index is at 11,925 (down 4.6%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index today are VOLTAS (down 7.2%) and HONEYWELL AUTOMATION (down 7.8%).

Over the last one year, VOLTAS has moved down from Rs 604 to Rs 548, registering a loss of Rs 56 (down 9.2%)..

The BSE CAPITAL GOODS has moved down from 18,256 to 11,925, loss of 6,331 points (down 34.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index stocks during this same period were HONEYWELL AUTOMATION (up 12.4%) and SIEMENS (up 1.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 27,773 (down 6.6%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are POWER GRID (up 3.2%) and NTPC (up 1.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NTPC and POWER GRID.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,099 (down 6.4%). POWER GRID (up 3.1%) and NTPC (up 1.7%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,095 to 27,773, registering a loss of 10,322 points (down 29.24%).

VOLTAS Financial Update...

VOLTAS net profit down at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 1 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 0.0% to Rs 14.9 billion during the period as against Rs 14.9 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, VOLTAS reported 0.7% increase in net profit to Rs 5.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.7 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 10.8% to Rs 71 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VOLTAS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 31.0x.
