KAVERI SEED Plunges by 8%; BSE 500 Index Down 6.4%

KAVERI SEED share price has plunged 8% and is presently trading at Rs 354.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 10,739 (down 6.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are KAVERI SEED (down 8.0%) and SHREE CEMENT (down 6.5%).

POWER GRID (up 3.5%) and TV TODAY NETWORK (up 3.2%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, KAVERI SEED has moved down from Rs 441 to Rs 354, registering a loss of Rs 87 (down 19.8%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 15,069 to 10,739, loss of 4,330 points (down 28.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 254.7%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 79.5%) and GUJARAT GAS (up 50.7%).

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,099 (down 6.1%). POWER GRID (up 3.2%) and NTPC (up 1.7%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

KAVERI SEED Financial Update...

KAVERI SEED net profit stood at Rs 85 million for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 36 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 81.6% to Rs 1.2 billion during the period as against Rs 672.0 million in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, KAVERI SEED reported 173.5% increase in net profit to Rs 2.1 billion compared to net profit of Rs 773.0 million during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 16.0% to Rs 8 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of KAVERI SEED, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 9.4x.
