LUPIN Surges by 5%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Down 0.7%

LUPIN share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 653.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 11,673 (down 0.7%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today are LUPIN (up 5.2%) and DIVIS LABORATORIES (up 5.1%).

DR. REDDYS LAB (down 0.7%) and TORRENT PHARMA (down 0.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, LUPIN has moved down from Rs 754 to Rs 653, registering a loss of Rs 102 (down 14.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE has moved down from 14,216 to 11,673, loss of 2,543 points (down 18.9%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were ABBOTT INDIA (up 85.3%), J.B.CHEMICALS (up 61.3%) and IPCA LABS (up 41.0%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are HERO MOTOCORP (up 5.6%), ITC (up 4.9%) and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 4.6%). Other gainers include BAJAJ AUTO (up 4.6%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (up 4.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and ICICI BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,575 (down 1.4%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include HERO MOTOCORP (up 5.0%), ITC (up 4.7%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (up 4.1%). Other gainers include BAJAJ AUTO (up 3.6%) and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 3.6%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,095 to 29,371, registering a loss of 8,724 points (down 24.31%).

LUPIN Financial Update...

LUPIN net profit down at Rs 9 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 16.3% to Rs 37.7 billion during the period as against Rs 45.0 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, LUPIN reported 44.6% decrease in net profit to Rs 9.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 17.2 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 5.8% to Rs 167 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of LUPIN, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 71.3x.
