M&M Surges by 5%; BSE AUTO Index Up 4.0%

M&M share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 283.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 11,147 (up 4.0%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE AUTO Index today are M&M (up 5.1%) and BOSCH (up 6.9%).

APOLLO TYRES (down 0.9%) and EXIDE INDUSTRIES (down 1.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, M&M has moved down from Rs 664 to Rs 283, registering a loss of Rs 381 (down 57.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved down from 18,589 to 11,147, loss of 7,442 points (down 40.2%) during the last 12 months.

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 27,919 (up 4.4%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are AXIS BANK (up 10.0%), RELIANCE IND. (up 9.6%) and MARUTI SUZUKI (up 9.0%). Other gainers include HDFC (up 7.9%) and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 7.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are RELIANCE IND. and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,160 (up 4.6%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include AXIS BANK (up 10.0%), RELIANCE IND. (up 9.8%) and MARUTI SUZUKI (up 9.2%). Other gainers include KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 8.0%) and HDFC (up 7.6%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 37,809 to 27,919, registering a loss of 9,890 points (down 26.33%).

M&M Financial Update...

M&M net profit down at Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 11 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 5.5% to Rs 123.5 billion during the period as against Rs 130.7 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, M&M reported 4.8% increase in net profit to Rs 44.3 billion compared to net profit of Rs 42.2 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 12.3% to Rs 1,047 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of M&M, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 6.6x.
