VOLTAS Plunges by 5%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 3.9%

VOLTAS share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 490.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index is at 11,027 (down 3.9%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index today are VOLTAS (down 5.0%) and SKF INDIA (down 5.3%).

SIEMENS (up 2.6%) and GRAPHITE INDIA (up 2.0%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, VOLTAS has moved down from Rs 624 to Rs 490, registering a loss of Rs 134 (down 21.4%)..

The BSE CAPITAL GOODS has moved down from 18,180 to 11,027, loss of 7,153 points (down 39.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index stocks during this same period were HONEYWELL AUTOMATION (up 8.2%) and SIEMENS (up 0.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 29,498 (down 3.5%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TECH MAHINDRA (up 3.5%), NESTLE (up 1.2%) and HUL (up 1.1%). Other gainer include TCS (up 0.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TCS and HUL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,576 (down 3.1%). CIPLA (up 3.6%) and TECH MAHINDRA (up 3.3%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,133 to 29,498, registering a loss of 8,635 points (down 24.53%).

VOLTAS Financial Update...

VOLTAS net profit down at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 1 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 0.0% to Rs 14.9 billion during the period as against Rs 14.9 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, VOLTAS reported 0.7% increase in net profit to Rs 5.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.7 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 10.8% to Rs 71 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VOLTAS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 26.9x.
