HUL Surges by 5%; BSE FMCG Index Up 3.4%

HUL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 2,325.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG Index is at 10,410 (up 3.4%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE FMCG Index today are HUL (up 5.0%) and ZYDUS WELLNESS (up 7.7%).

P&G HYGIENE (down 0.8%) and E.I.D. PARRY (down 1.8%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, HUL has moved up from Rs 1,672 to Rs 2,325, registering a gain of Rs 653 (up 35.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG has moved down from 11,652 to 10,410, loss of 1,242 points (down 11.4%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG Index stocks during this same period were NESTLE (up 42.1%), GSK CONSUMER (up 40.3%) and HUL (up 35.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 28,963 (up 4.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INDUSIND BANK (up 10.0%), M&M (up 9.6%) and ICICI BANK (up 7.7%). Other gainers include AXIS BANK (up 6.6%) and HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 6.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ICICI BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,468 (up 3.9%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include INDUSIND BANK (up 15.0%), M&M (up 10.0%) and AXIS BANK (up 6.6%). Other gainers include HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 6.5%) and ICICI BANK (up 6.4%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,877 to 28,963, registering a loss of 9,914 points (down 26.06%).

HUL Financial Update...

HUL net profit stood at Rs 16 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 14 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 2.6% to Rs 98.1 billion during the period as against Rs 95.6 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, HUL reported 19.6% increase in net profit to Rs 62.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 52.6 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 8.5% to Rs 393 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HUL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 72.5x.
