JSW ENERGY Surges by 5%; BSE POWER Index Down 0.3%

JSW ENERGY share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 48.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 1,529 (down 0.3%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE POWER Index today are JSW ENERGY (up 5.1%) and KALPATARU POWER (up 15.1%).

SIEMENS (down 0.2%) and GMR INFRA (down 0.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, JSW ENERGY has moved down from Rs 72 to Rs 48, registering a loss of Rs 24 (down 37.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER has moved down from 2,033 to 1,529, loss of 504 points (down 26.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER LTD (up 17.2%) and SIEMENS (up 1.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 32,056 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are HDFC BANK (up 3.8%), INFOSYS (up 3.6%) and TECH MAHINDRA (up 2.2%). Other gainers include HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 1.8%) and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 1.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are HDFC BANK and INFOSYS.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 9,391 (up 0.4%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include TATA MOTORS (up 7.3%), ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 5.0%) and HDFC BANK (up 3.9%). Other gainers include INFOSYS (up 3.8%) and IOC (up 3.6%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 39,140 to 32,056, registering a loss of 7,084 points (down 19.09%).

JSW ENERGY Financial Update...

JSW ENERGY net profit stood at Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended September 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 12.5% to Rs 21.2 billion during the period as against Rs 24.2 billion in July-September 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, JSW ENERGY reported 10.7% decrease in net profit to Rs 5.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 6.2 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 2.6% to Rs 80 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of JSW ENERGY, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 9.6x.
