GAIL Plunges by 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 3.1%

GAIL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 87.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS Index is at 11,163 (down 3.1%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS Index today are GAIL (down 4.7%) and ONGC (down 5.6%).

Over the last one year, GAIL has moved down from Rs 172 to Rs 87, registering a loss of Rs 85 (down 49.6%)..

The BSE OIL & GAS has moved down from 14,528 to 11,163, loss of 3,365 points (down 23.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS Index stocks during this same period were INDRAPRASTHA GAS (up 45.3%) and BPCL (up 6.6%).

GAIL Financial Update...

GAIL net profit down at Rs 13 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 17 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 10.2% to Rs 177.7 billion during the period as against Rs 197.9 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, GAIL reported 24.3% increase in net profit to Rs 57.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 46.5 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 39.4% to Rs 762 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of GAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 8.0x.
