EIH Plunges by 7%; BSE 500 Index Down 0.1%

EIH share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 78.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 11,800 (down 0.1%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are EIH (down 6.7%) and BAJAJ HOLDINGS & INVESTMENT (down 6.6%).

RELIANCE CAPITAL (up 9.9%) and VODAFONE IDEA (up 7.5%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, EIH has moved down from Rs 192 to Rs 78, registering a loss of Rs 114 (down 59.2%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 15,207 to 11,800, loss of 3,407 points (down 22.4%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 334.2%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 116.7%) and NAVIN FLUORINE (up 104.8%).

The BSE Sensex is at 30,856 (up 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are RELIANCE IND. (up 5.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are RELIANCE IND. and BHARTI AIRTEL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 9,031 (up 0.5%). RELIANCE IND. (up 7.7%) and ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 2.5%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,645 to 30,856, registering a loss of 7,789 points (down 20.67%).

EIH Financial Update...

EIH net profit stood at Rs 750 million for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 639 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 4.9% to Rs 4.2 billion during the period as against Rs 4.4 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, EIH reported 26.6% decrease in net profit to Rs 1.3 billion compared to net profit of Rs 1.8 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 13.3% to Rs 18 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of EIH, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 35.3x.
