VOLTAS Surges by 5%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 1.4%

VOLTAS share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 505.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index is at 12,511 (up 1.4%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index today are VOLTAS (up 5.2%) and HINDUSTAN AERONAUTICS (up 5.3%).

CARBORUNDUM UNIVERSAL (down 0.2%) and GRAPHITE INDIA (down 1.0%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, VOLTAS has moved down from Rs 572 to Rs 505, registering a loss of Rs 67 (down 11.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS has moved down from 19,909 to 12,511, loss of 7,398 points (down 37.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index stocks during this same period were HONEYWELL AUTOMATION (up 3.7%).

The BSE Sensex is at 32,950 (up 1.5%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 3.8%), AXIS BANK (up 3.1%) and HDFC BANK (up 3.0%). Other gainers include INDUSIND BANK (up 2.5%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 2.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are HDFC and BAJAJ FINANCE.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 9,727 (up 1.5%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include HDFC (up 2.9%), IOC (up 2.5%) and HDFC BANK (up 2.5%). Other gainers include AXIS BANK (up 2.4%) and TATA STEEL (up 2.3%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 39,502 to 32,950, registering a loss of 6,552 points (down 16.65%).

VOLTAS Financial Update...

VOLTAS net profit down at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 1 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 0.0% to Rs 14.9 billion during the period as against Rs 14.9 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, VOLTAS reported 0.7% increase in net profit to Rs 5.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.7 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 10.8% to Rs 71 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VOLTAS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 29.2x.
