EPL Share Price Down by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 2.3%

EPL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 224.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 19,801 (down 2.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are EPL (down 5.0%) and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (down 5.2%).

RCF (up 16.7%) and TATA COFFEE (up 13.6%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, EPL has moved up from Rs 192 to Rs 224, registering a gain of Rs 32 (up 16.6%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 15,469 to 19,801, registering a gain of 4,332 points (up 28.0%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 529.9%), DIXON TECHNOLOGIES (up 380.5%) and HINDUSTAN COPPER (up 338.2%).

The BSE Sensex is at 50,400 (down 2.9%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are NTPC (up 1.0%), MARUTI SUZUKI (up 0.2%) and NESTLE (up 0.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NTPC and MARUTI SUZUKI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 14,919 (down 2.7%). NTPC (up 0.5%) and MARUTI SUZUKI (up 0.3%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

EPL Financial Update...

EPL net profit stood at Rs 725 million for the quarter ended December 2020, compared to a profit of Rs 618 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 7.9% to Rs 7.7 billion during the period as against Rs 7.1 billion in October-December 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, EPL reported 3.8% increase in net profit to Rs 1.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 1.8 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 10.6% to Rs 27 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of EPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 28.7x.
