JSW STEEL at All Time High; BSE METAL Index Up 1.4%

JSW STEEL share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 408 (up 2.2%).

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL Index is at 13,997 (up 1.4%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL Index today are JSW STEEL (up 2.2%) and TATA STEEL (up 2.3%).

HINDUSTAN ZINC (down 0.4%) is among the top loser today.

Over the last one year, JSW STEEL has moved up from Rs 247 to Rs 408, registering a gain of Rs 161 (up 65.0%).

The BSE METAL has moved up from 12,950 to 13,997, registering a gain of 1,047 points (up 8.0%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL Index stocks during this same period were JINDAL STEEL & POWER (up 70.0%), JSW STEEL (up 65.0%) and SAIL (up 33.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,819 (down 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA STEEL (up 2.3%), ONGC (up 2.0%) and ITC LTD (up 1.5%). Other gainers include BHARTI AIRTEL (up 1.4%) and VEDANTA LTD (up 1.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are VEDANTA LTD and ITC LTD.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,699 (down 0.2%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include TATA STEEL (up 2.4%), ONGC (up 2.0%) and UPL LIMITED (up 1.8%). Other gainers include ITC LTD (up 1.4%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (up 1.4%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,388 to 38,819, registering a gain of 7,431 points (up 23.3%).

JSW STEEL Financial Update...

JSW STEEL net profit stood at Rs 23 billion for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a profit of Rs 18 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 14.9% to Rs 205.2 billion during the period as against Rs 178.6 billion in April-June 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, JSW STEEL reported 83.4% increase in net profit to Rs 63.4 billion compared to net profit of Rs 34.6 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 18.1% to Rs 715 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of JSW STEEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 1.3x.
