SYMPHONY LTD Plunges by 5%; BSE CONSUMER DURABLES Index Down 1.9%

SYMPHONY LTD share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 992.

Meanwhile, the BSE CONSUMER DURABLES Index is at 19,786 (down 1.9%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CONSUMER DURABLES Index today are SYMPHONY LTD (down 5.1%) and WHIRLPOOL OF INDIA (down 6.4%).

BAJAJ ELECTRICALS (up 1.6%) and RAJESH EXPORTS (up 0.7%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, SYMPHONY LTD has moved down from Rs 1,334 to Rs 992, registering a loss of Rs 341 (down 25.6%)..

The BSE CONSUMER DURABLES has moved up from 17,398 to 19,786, registering a gain of 2,388 points (up 13.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CONSUMER DURABLES Index stocks during this same period were VIP INDUSTRIES (up 72.9%), BAJAJ ELECTRICALS (up 40.7%) and TITAN COMPANY (up 36.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 36,552 (down 0.3%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are HDFC (up 2.0%), HDFC BANK (up 1.6%) and SBI (up 1.5%). Other gainers include AXIS BANK (up 1.1%) and WIPRO (up 1.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,034 (down 0.6%). HDFC (up 2.1%) and HDFC BANK (up 1.8%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,160 to 36,552, registering a gain of 5,392 points (up 16.2%).

SYMPHONY LTD Financial Update...

SYMPHONY LTD net profit down at Rs 200 million for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 663 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 32.9% to Rs 1.5 billion during the period as against Rs 2.2 billion in April-June 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, SYMPHONY LTD reported 15.8% increase in net profit to Rs 1.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 1.7 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 4.4% to Rs 8 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SYMPHONY LTD, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 36.8x.
