ORIENTAL BANK Surges by 5%; BSE BANKEX Index Up 0.9%

ORIENTAL BANK share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 65.
Meanwhile, the BSE BANKEX Index is at 28,322 (up 0.9%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE BANKEX Index today are ORIENTAL BANK (up 5.2%) and YES BANK (up 9.7%).
KOTAK MAH. BANK (down 1.8%) and INDUSIND BANK (down 2.1%) are among the top losers today.
Over the last one year, ORIENTAL BANK has moved down from Rs 120 to Rs 65, registering a loss of Rs 55 (down 46.1%).
On the other hand, the BSE BANKEX has moved up from 26,986 to 28,322, registering a gain of 1,336 points (up 4.7%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE BANKEX Index stocks during this same period were AXIS BANK (up 15.7%), ICICI BANK (up 13.9%) and HDFC BANK (up 13.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 36,617 (up 1.0%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are YES BANK (up 9.7%), TATA MOTORS DVR (up 3.7%) and SBI (up 3.3%). Other gainers include TCS (up 3.3%) and INFOSYS LTD (up 3.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and INFOSYS LTD.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,036 (up 0.8%). YES BANK (up 8.8%) and HINDALCO (up 6.2%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,282 to 36,617, registering a gain of 5,335 points (up 17.0%).
ORIENTAL BANK Financial Update...
ORIENTAL BANK net profit declined 80.2% YoY to Rs 4 billion for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 20 billion a year ago. Operating income rose 0.2% to Rs 42.7 billion during the period as against Rs 42.6 billion in April-June 2017.
For the year ended March 2018, ORIENTAL BANK reported 442.7% increase in net profit to Rs 58.7 billion compared to net profit of Rs 10.8 billion during FY17.
Revenue of the company grew 5.6% to Rs 174 billion during FY18.
The current Price to earnings ratio of ORIENTAL BANK, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 0.7x.
