PTC INDIA LTD Plunges by 5%; BSE POWER Index Down 1.6%

PTC INDIA LTD share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 72.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 1,953 (down 1.6%).

Among the top losers in the BSE POWER Index today is PTC INDIA LTD (down 5.1%).

NHPC LTD (up 2.6%) and BHEL (up 0.1%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, PTC INDIA LTD has moved down from Rs 123 to Rs 72, registering a loss of Rs 52 (down 41.9%)..

The BSE POWER has moved down from 2,195 to 1,953, loss of 242 points (down 11.0%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER LTD (up 3.6%) and GMR INFRA (up 0.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 35,821 (down 2.2%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are YES BANK (up 1.2%), L&T (up 1.0%) and AXIS BANK (up 0.5%). Other gainer include TATA MOTORS DVR (up 0.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and AXIS BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,755 (down 2.2%). BHARTI INFRATEL (up 2.4%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,497 to 35,821, registering a gain of 4,324 points (up 11.7%).

PTC INDIA LTD Financial Update...

PTC INDIA LTD net profit stood at Rs 614 million for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a profit of Rs 589 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 24.6% to Rs 33.9 billion during the period as against Rs 44.9 billion in April-June 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, PTC INDIA LTD reported 20.1% decrease in net profit to Rs 4.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.1 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 28.3% to Rs 196 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of PTC INDIA LTD, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 6.4x.
