AJANTA PHARMA Surges by 5%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Up 1.9%

AJANTA PHARMA share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 1,065.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 14,694 (up 1.9%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today are AJANTA PHARMA (up 5.1%) and PFIZER (up 5.3%).

CIPLA (down 0.1%) and NARAYANA HRUDAYALAYA LTD (down 0.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, AJANTA PHARMA has moved down from Rs 1,167 to Rs 1,065, registering a loss of Rs 102 (down 9.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE has moved up from 13,983 to 14,694, registering a gain of 711 points (up 5.0%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were BIOCON LTD (up 78.5%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 78.1%) and PFIZER (up 54.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 34,858 (up 1.4%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are AXIS BANK (up 6.1%), SBI (up 5.5%) and MARUTI SUZUKI (up 4.6%). Other gainers include YES BANK (up 4.6%) and ICICI BANK (up 4.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TATA MOTORS and YES BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,480 (up 1.7%). BAJAJ FINANCE (up 10.9%) and BAJAJ FINSERV (up 9.2%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,847 to 34,858, registering a gain of 3,011 points (up 9.2%).

AJANTA PHARMA Financial Update...

AJANTA PHARMA net profit down at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 1 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 13.0% to Rs 5.1 billion during the period as against Rs 5.9 billion in April-June 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, AJANTA PHARMA reported 7.5% decrease in net profit to Rs 4.7 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.1 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 6.5% to Rs 21 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of AJANTA PHARMA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 19.6x.
