The BSE POWER Index Down 2% ; GMR INFRA Among Top Losers

The BSE POWER Index has plunged 2% to 1,991.

Among the top losers in the BSE POWER Index today are GMR INFRA (down 3.9%), SIEMENS (down 3.7%) and TORRENT POWER LTD (down 3.7%). Other losers include ADANI POWER (down 3.5%) and POWER GRID (down 3.3%).

NHPC LTD (up 1.5%) and KEC INTERNATIONAL are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, the BSE POWER Index has moved down from 2,289 to 1,991, loss of Rs 298 (down 13.0%).

The top losers among the BSE POWER during this same period were SUZLON ENERGY (down 60.8%), CG POWER & INDUSTRIAL SOLUTIONS LTD (down 59.3%) and PTC INDIA LTD (down 33.7%).

What about the Benchmark Indices?

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex has plunged 0.9% to 35,333.

Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are TATA STEEL (up 1.7%), KOTAK MAH. BANK (up 1.3%) and INFOSYS LTD (up 0.5%). Other gainers include TCS (up 0.3%) and L&T (up 0.1%).

The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TATA STEEL and INFOSYS LTD.

In the meantime, the NSE Nifty is at 10,646 (down 1.0%).
