Indian Stock Market Updates December 14, 2018

COLGATE at 52 Week High; BSE 500 Index Flat

COLGATE share price has hit a 52-week high at Rs 1,315 (up 0.9%).

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 14,404 .

Among the top gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are COLGATE (up 0.9%) and MOTHERSON SUMI (up 7.1%).

SOUTH IND.BANK (down 3.4%) and ASAHI INDIA (down 2.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, COLGATE has moved up from Rs 1,050 to Rs 1,315, registering a gain of Rs 264 (up 25.17%).

The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,399 to 14,404, registering a gain of 5 points (up -0.1%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were HEG LTD (up 114.8%), V-MART RETAIL (up 90.0%) and NIIT TECHNOLOGIES (up 82.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 35,960 (down 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are BHARTI AIRTEL (up 3.0%), WIPRO (up 0.6%) and INFOSYS LTD (up 0.6%). Other gainers include ICICI BANK (up 0.4%) and HDFC BANK (up 0.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are INFOSYS LTD and BHARTI AIRTEL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,788 (down 0.1%). IOC (up 2.9%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (up 2.7%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 33,053 to 35,960, registering a gain of 2,907 points (up 8.6%).

COLGATE Financial Update...

COLGATE net profit stood at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended September 2018, compared to a profit of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 13.0% to Rs 11.7 billion during the period as against Rs 10.3 billion in July-September 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, COLGATE reported 18.6% increase in net profit to Rs 6.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.8 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 4.2% to Rs 43 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of COLGATE, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 48.0x.
