TATA MOTORS Surges by 5%; BSE AUTO Index Up 1.0%

TATA MOTORS share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 176.
Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 21,099 (up 1.0%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE AUTO Index today is TATA MOTORS (up 5.3%).
HERO MOTOCORP (down 0.8%) is among the top loser today.
Over the last one year, TATA MOTORS has moved down from Rs 403 to Rs 176, registering a loss of Rs 227 (down 56.4%).
On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved down from 25,214 to 21,099, loss of 4,115 points (down 16.3%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were EXIDE INDUSTRIES (up 27.1%), M&M (up 6.2%) and MRF LTD. (up 1.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 36,253 (up 0.8%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA MOTORS (up 5.3%), POWER GRID (up 3.4%) and VEDANTA LTD (up 3.3%). Other gainers include NTPC (up 2.4%) and ICICI BANK (up 1.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and VEDANTA LTD.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,877 (up 0.6%). TATA MOTORS (up 5.1%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 33,247 to 36,253, registering a gain of 3,006 points (up 9.0%).
TATA MOTORS Financial Update...
TATA MOTORS net profit down at Rs 11 billion for the quarter ended September 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 7 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 2.8% to Rs 721.1 billion during the period as against Rs 741.6 billion in July-September 2017.
For the year ended March 2018, TATA MOTORS reported 2.2% decrease in net profit to Rs 48.4 billion compared to net profit of Rs 49.5 billion during FY17.
Revenue of the company grew 7.6% to Rs 2,954 billion during FY18.
The current Price to earnings ratio of TATA MOTORS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 41.4x.
