RELIANCE POWER surged by 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 1.4%

RELIANCE POWER share price has Zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 35.
Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 2,110 (Up 1.4%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE POWER Index today are RELIANCE POWER (up 5.28%) and TORRENT POWER LTD (up 5.79%).
ABB INDIA LTD. (down 0.45%) is among the top loser today.
Over the last one year, RELIANCE POWER has moved down from Rs 42 to Rs 35, registering a loss of Rs 7 (down 16.61%)
On the other hand, the BSE POWER has moved down from 2,190 to 2,110, loss of 80 points (down 3.65%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were KEC INTERNATIONAL (up 51.89%), GMR INFRA (up 21.92%) and ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 21.46%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 34,908 (up 0.68%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are GAIL (up 4.11%), ONGC (up 4.06%) and TATA STEEL (up 3.61%). Other gainers include TATA MOTORS (up 2.11%) and HERO MOTOCORP (up 2.03%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TATA MOTORS and ONGC.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,601 (up 0.79%). TATA POWER (up 5.49%) and HINDALCO (up 4.68%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 30,302 to 34,908, registering a gain of 4,606 points (up 15.17%).
RELIANCE POWER Financial Update...
RELIANCE POWER net profit grew 33.7% YoY to Rs 944 million for the quarter ended March 2018, compared to a profit of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 97.3% to Rs 24.3 billion during the period as against Rs 24.9 billion in January-March 2017.
For the year ended March 2017, RELIANCE POWER reported 123.3% increase in net profit to Rs 11.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 9.0 billion during FY16.
Revenue of the company grew 100.9% to Rs 104 billion during FY17.
The current Price to earnings ratio of RELIANCE POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 11.1x.
