BATA INDIA at All Time High; BSE FMCG Index Up 0.3%

BATA INDIA share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 1,301 (up 1.0%).

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG Index is at 11,349 (up 0.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE FMCG Index today are BATA INDIA (up 1.0%) and NESTLE (up 0.6%).

TATA GLOBAL BEV. (down 0.1%) and GODREJ AGROVET LTD (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BATA INDIA has moved up from Rs 705 to Rs 1,301, registering a gain of Rs 596 (up 84.0%).

The BSE FMCG has moved up from 10,513 to 11,349, registering a gain of 836 points (up 7.8%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG Index stocks during this same period were NESTLE (up 40.4%), HUL (up 32.7%) and UNITED BREWERIES (up 31.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 35,939 (down 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are YES BANK (up 2.9%), VEDANTA LTD (up 2.6%) and M&M (up 2.0%). Other gainers include MARUTI SUZUKI (up 1.9%) and HERO MOTOCORP (up 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and VEDANTA LTD.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,799 (down 0.1%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include IOC (up 4.4%), HPCL (up 3.2%) and YES BANK (up 3.0%). Other gainers include VEDANTA LTD (up 2.6%) and BPCL (up 2.0%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 33,845 to 35,939, registering a gain of 2,094 points (up 6.0%).

BATA INDIA Financial Update...

BATA INDIA net profit stood at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended December 2018, compared to a profit of Rs 682 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 15.5% to Rs 7.8 billion during the period as against Rs 6.7 billion in October-December 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, BATA INDIA reported 22.1% increase in net profit to Rs 2.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 1.8 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 5.5% to Rs 26 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BATA INDIA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 56.8x.
