Indian Stock Market Updates May 30, 2018

TATA ELXSI at All Time High; BSE IT Index Up 0.2%

TATA ELXSI share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 1,258 (up 2.09%).

Meanwhile, the BSE IT Index is at 13,423 (up 0.24%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE IT Index today are TATA ELXSI (up 2.09%) and INFOSYS LTD (up 0.74%)

L&T TECHONOLOGY SERVICES (down 0.34%) and TCS (down 0.38%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, TATA ELXSI has moved up from Rs 667 to Rs 1,258, registering a gain of Rs 591 (up 88.06%).

The BSE IT has moved up from 10,267 to 13,423, registering a gain of 3,156 points (up 30.45%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE IT Index stocks during this same period were SONATA SOFTWARE (up 150.17%), KPIT TECHNOLOGIES (up 136.94%) and FIRSTSOURCE SOL. (up 120.57%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 34,876 (down 0.58%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are COAL INDIA (up 2.92%), M&M (up 2.38%) and ONGC (up 0.91%). Other gainers include INFOSYS LTD (up 0.74%) and WIPRO (up 0.02%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are COAL INDIA and M&M.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,589 (down 0.63%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include COAL INDIA (up 3.06%), M&M (up 2.78%) and POWER GRID (up 1.28%). Other gainers include TECH MAHINDRA (up 1.17%) and ONGC (up 0.71%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,109 to 34,876, registering a gain of 3,767 points (up 11.69%).

TATA ELXSI Financial Update...

TATA ELXSI net profit grew 112.0% YoY to Rs 703 million for the quarter ended March 2018, compared to a profit of Rs 628 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 108.6% to Rs 3.8 billion during the period as against Rs 3.5 billion in January-March 2017.

For the year ended March 2017, TATA ELXSI reported 111.9% increase in net profit to Rs 1.7 billion compared to net profit of Rs 1.5 billion during FY16.

Revenue of the company grew 114.7% to Rs 12 billion during FY17.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TATA ELXSI, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 16.3x.
