ASHOK LEYLAND Surges by 5%; BSE AUTO Index Up 1.3%

ASHOK LEYLAND share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 92.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 19,483 (up 1.3%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE AUTO Index today is ASHOK LEYLAND (up 5.0%).

APOLLO TYRES (down 1.8%) and MRF LTD. (down 2.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, ASHOK LEYLAND has moved down from Rs 146 to Rs 92, registering a loss of Rs 55 (down 37.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved down from 25,477 to 19,483, loss of 5,994 points (down 23.5%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were BAJAJ AUTO (up 5.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,979 (up 0.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are YES BANK (up 4.2%), WIPRO (up 3.5%) and TATA MOTORS DVR (up 2.8%). Other gainers include ICICI BANK (up 2.6%) and TATA MOTORS (up 2.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,684 (up 0.7%). YES BANK (up 4.3%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 33,789 to 38,979, registering a gain of 5,190 points (up 15.3%).

ASHOK LEYLAND Financial Update...

ASHOK LEYLAND net profit down at Rs 4 billion for the quarter ended December 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 4 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 11.1% to Rs 63.3 billion during the period as against Rs 71.1 billion in October-December 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, ASHOK LEYLAND reported 13.2% increase in net profit to Rs 18.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 16.1 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 23.6% to Rs 299 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ASHOK LEYLAND, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 14.3x.
