WIPRO at 52 Week High; BSE 500 Index Down 0.2 %

WIPRO share price has hit a 52-week high at Rs 298 (up 0.9%).

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,345 (down 0.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are WIPRO (up 0.9%) and ORIENT CEMENT (up 12.4%).

YES BANK (down 24.8%) and RELIANCE CAPITAL (down 8.5%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, WIPRO has moved up from Rs 211 to Rs 298, registering a gain of Rs 87 (up 40.65%).

The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,867 to 15,345, registering a gain of 478 points (up 3.0%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were BATA INDIA (up 85.6%), AXIS BANK (up 54.3%) and SUVEN LIFESCIENCES (up 48.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 39,069 (down 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.6%), HDFC BANK (up 1.3%) and ONGC (up 1.2%). Other gainers include WIPRO (up 0.9%) and ITC (up 0.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ONGC and WIPRO.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,749 (down 0.2%). ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.9%) and IOC (up 1.9%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 34,714 to 39,069, registering a gain of 4,355 points (up 12.4%).

WIPRO Financial Update...

WIPRO net profit down at Rs 25 billion for the quarter ended March 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 25 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 0.7% to Rs 151.6 billion during the period as against Rs 150.6 billion in January-March 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, WIPRO reported 6.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 80.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 85.2 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 1.7% to Rs 545 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of WIPRO, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 14.9x.
