Indian Stock Market Updates April 30, 2019

VODAFONE IDEA Plunges by 6%; BSE 500 Index Down 0.3%

VODAFONE IDEA share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 16.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,345 (down 0.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are VODAFONE IDEA (down 5.5%) and INDUSIND BANK (down 5.6%).

FDC LTD. (up 8.9%) and BLUE DART EXPRESS (up 6.0%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, VODAFONE IDEA has moved down from Rs 41 to Rs 16, registering a loss of Rs 25 (down 60.8%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,867 to 15,345, registering a gain of 478 points (up 3.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were BALRAMPUR CHINI (up 132.1%), VINATI ORGANICS (up 103.9%) and BATA INDIA (up 86.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 39,106 (down 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA STEEL (up 2.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are RELIANCE IND. and TATA STEEL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,756 (down 0.1%). JSW STEEL (up 5.3%) and ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 4.0%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 34,714 to 39,106, registering a gain of 4,392 points (up 12.4%).

VODAFONE IDEA Financial Update...

VODAFONE IDEA net profit stood at Rs 50 billion for the quarter ended December 2018, compared to a profit of Rs 13 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 80.7% to Rs 117.6 billion during the period as against Rs 65.1 billion in October-December 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, VODAFONE IDEA reported 446.6% increase in net profit to Rs 44.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 8.2 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 20.5% to Rs 283 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VODAFONE IDEA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 5.3x.
