RELIANCE POWER Plunges by 5%; BSE POWER Index Down 0.2%

RELIANCE POWER share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 5.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 1,998 (down 0.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE POWER Index today is RELIANCE POWER (down 5.4%).

KALPATARU POWER (up 1.8%) and SUZLON ENERGY (up 1.7%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, RELIANCE POWER has moved down from Rs 35 to Rs 5, registering a loss of Rs 29 (down 84.6%)..

The BSE POWER has moved down from 2,039 to 1,998, loss of 41 points (down 2.0%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were ADANI POWER (up 146.2%), ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 60.8%) and SIEMENS (up 23.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 39,540 (down 0.5%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are BHARTI AIRTEL (up 0.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are BHARTI AIRTEL and INFOSYS.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,844 (down 0.5%). INDIABULLS HOU. FIN. (up 1.1%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 35,600 to 39,540, registering a gain of 3,940 points (up 10.3%).

RELIANCE POWER Financial Update...

RELIANCE POWER net profit down at Rs 36 billion for the quarter ended March 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 24.5% to Rs 15.9 billion during the period as against Rs 21.0 billion in January-March 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, RELIANCE POWER reported 6.3% decrease in net profit to Rs 10.3 billion compared to net profit of Rs 11.0 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 5.3% to Rs 98 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of RELIANCE POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 0.5x.
