The BSE POWER Index Down 2% ; NTPC Among Top Losers

The BSE POWER Index has plunged 2% to 1,916.

Among the top losers in the BSE POWER Index today are NTPC (down 3.4%), POWER GRID (down 2.0%) and BHEL (down 1.3%). Other losers include ADANI TRANSMISSION (down 1.0%) and KALPATARU POWER (down 0.4%).

SUZLON ENERGY (up 2.7%) and ADANI POWER (up 0.9%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, the BSE POWER Index has moved down from 2,099 to 1,916, loss of Rs 183 (down 8.7%).

The top losers among the BSE POWER during this same period were RELIANCE INFRA (down 91.7%), SUZLON ENERGY (down 47.9%) and BHEL (down 38.1%).

What about the Benchmark Indices?

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex has plunged 0.5% to 37,319.

Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are VEDANTA LTD (up 2.2%), TATA STEEL (up 2.0%) and SUN PHARMA (up 1.0%). Other gainers include HUL (up 0.6%) and HDFC BANK (up 0.6%).

The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are VEDANTA LTD and TATA STEEL.

In the meantime, the NSE Nifty is at 11,025 (down 0.5%).
