Indian Stock Market Updates September 5, 2019

TATA MOTORS Surges by 5%; BSE AUTO Index Up 1.8%

TATA MOTORS share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 116.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 15,517 (up 1.8%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE AUTO Index today is TATA MOTORS (up 5.4%).

APOLLO TYRES (down 0.5%) is among the top loser today.

Over the last one year, TATA MOTORS has moved down from Rs 262 to Rs 116, registering a loss of Rs 146 (down 56.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved down from 24,071 to 15,517, loss of 8,554 points (down 35.5%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were BAJAJ AUTO (up 1.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 36,899 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are COAL INDIA (up 5.7%), ONGC (up 5.6%) and TATA MOTORS DVR (up 5.5%). Other gainers include TATA MOTORS (up 5.4%) and NTPC (up 3.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and TATA MOTORS.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,920 (up 0.4%). COAL INDIA (up 5.4%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,158 to 36,899, registering a loss of 1,259 points (down 3.5%).

TATA MOTORS Financial Update...

TATA MOTORS net profit declined 87.2% YoY to Rs 34 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 268 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 20.2% to Rs 614.7 billion during the period as against Rs 770.0 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, TATA MOTORS reported 85.2% decrease in net profit to Rs 7.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 48.4 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 3.3% to Rs 3,019 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TATA MOTORS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 1.1x.
