Indian Stock Market Updates September 24, 2019

EDELWEISS FINANCIAL Plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 0.2%

EDELWEISS FINANCIAL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 124.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,112 (down 0.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are EDELWEISS FINANCIAL (down 5.1%) and THOMAS COOK INDIA (down 5.7%).

SHIPPING CORP. (up 9.8%) and ALLCARGO LOGISTIC (up 6.8%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, EDELWEISS FINANCIAL has moved down from Rs 217 to Rs 124, registering a loss of Rs 93 (down 42.7%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,654 to 15,112, registering a gain of 458 points (up 3.1%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI POWER (up 168.4%), INTERGLOBE AVIATION (INDIGO) (up 110.9%) and SPICEJET (up 80.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 39,306 (down 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are RELIANCE IND. (up 4.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and TATA MOTORS.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,655 (down 0.3%). RELIANCE IND. (up 3.9%) and ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 3.3%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,305 to 39,306, registering a gain of 3,001 points (up 7.5%).

EDELWEISS FINANCIAL Financial Update...

EDELWEISS FINANCIAL net profit down at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 9.5% to Rs 25.1 billion during the period as against Rs 27.8 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, EDELWEISS FINANCIAL reported 56.5% increase in net profit to Rs 8.6 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.5 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 30.2% to Rs 86 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of EDELWEISS FINANCIAL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 11.6x.
