Indian Stock Market Updates October 9, 2019

DISH TV Surges by 11%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.9%

DISH TV share price has zoomed 11% and is presently trading at Rs 19.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 14,470 (up 0.9%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today is DISH TV (up 10.7%).

V GUARD INDUSTRIES and FDC LTD. are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, DISH TV has moved down from Rs 52 to Rs 19, registering a loss of Rs 34 (down 64.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved up from 13,653 to 14,470, registering a gain of 817 points (up 5.9%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI POWER (up 156.6%), INTERGLOBE AVIATION (INDIGO) (up 128.7%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 128.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 37,920 (up 0.9%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are BHARTI AIRTEL (up 4.8%), INDUSIND BANK (up 4.2%) and M&M (up 3.3%). Other gainers include ICICI BANK (up 2.9%) and SBI (up 2.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and TATA MOTORS.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,239 (up 1.0%). BHARTI AIRTEL (up 5.2%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 34,474 to 37,920, registering a gain of 3,446 points (up 9.9%).

DISH TV Financial Update...

DISH TV net profit down at Rs 354 million for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 39.0% to Rs 9.3 billion during the period as against Rs 15.2 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, DISH TV reported 203.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 849.0 million compared to net profit of Rs 821.0 million during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 53.7% to Rs 46 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of DISH TV, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 2.8x.
