Indian Stock Market Updates October 11, 2019

IPCA LABS Surges by 6%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Up 0.3%

IPCA LABS share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 906.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 12,122 (up 0.3%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today is IPCA LABS (up 5.6%).

GSK PHARMA (down 0.1%) and DR. REDDYS LAB (down 0.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, IPCA LABS has moved up from Rs 622 to Rs 906, registering a gain of Rs 284 (up 45.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE has moved down from 14,673 to 12,122, loss of 2,551 points (down 17.4%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were PROCTER & GAMBLE HEALTH (up 55.1%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 50.0%) and IPCA LABS (up 45.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,345 (up 0.4%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INFOSYS (up 3.1%), ONGC (up 2.5%) and TATA MOTORS (up 2.1%). Other gainers include TATA MOTORS DVR (up 1.7%) and HUL (up 1.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TATA MOTORS and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,363 (up 0.2%). CIPLA (up 3.3%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 34,761 to 38,345, registering a gain of 3,584 points (up 9.4%).

IPCA LABS Financial Update...

IPCA LABS net profit down at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 6.7% to Rs 10.1 billion during the period as against Rs 9.5 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, IPCA LABS reported 23.1% increase in net profit to Rs 2.4 billion compared to net profit of Rs 1.9 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 2.2% to Rs 33 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of IPCA LABS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 21.9x.

MAHANAGAR GAS share price has hit a 52-week high. It is presently trading at Rs 1,244. BSE 500 Index is down by 0.5% at 20,139. Within the BSE 500, MAHANAGAR GAS (up 3.4%) and BALRAMPUR CHINI (up 6.0%) are among the top gainers, while top losers are HINDUSTAN COPPER and APOLLO HOSPITALS.
