Indian Stock Market Updates November 1, 2019

VODAFONE IDEA Surges by 10%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.3%

VODAFONE IDEA share price has zoomed 10% and is presently trading at Rs 4.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,453 (up 0.3%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are VODAFONE IDEA (up 10.3%) and DISH TV (up 17.4%).

TATA INVESTMENT and AIA ENGINEERING are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, VODAFONE IDEA has moved down from Rs 23 to Rs 4, registering a loss of Rs 19 (down 81.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved up from 13,882 to 15,453, registering a gain of 1,571 points (up 11.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 127.1%), RELIANCE NIPPON LIFE ASSET MANAGEMENT LTD (up 117.3%) and MANAPPURAM FINANCE (up 113.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 40,283 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INDUSIND BANK (up 3.3%), TATA STEEL (up 1.4%) and ITC (up 1.2%). Other gainers include HERO MOTOCORP (up 1.2%) and AXIS BANK (up 1.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are VEDANTA LTD and TATA MOTORS DVR.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,918 (up 0.1%). BHARTI INFRATEL (up 5.4%) and ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 5.1%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 34,442 to 40,283, registering a gain of 5,841 points (up 16.7%).

VODAFONE IDEA Financial Update...

VODAFONE IDEA net profit down at Rs 49 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 50 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 4.2% to Rs 112.7 billion during the period as against Rs 117.6 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, VODAFONE IDEA reported 446.6% increase in net profit to Rs 44.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 8.2 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 20.5% to Rs 283 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VODAFONE IDEA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 0.2x.
