BANK OF MAHARASHTRA Surges by 6%; BSE BANKEX Index Up 0.8%

BANK OF MAHARASHTRA share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 13.
Meanwhile, the BSE BANKEX Index is at 34,501 (up 0.8%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE BANKEX Index today is BANK OF MAHARASHTRA (up 5.6%).
CITY UNION BANK (down 0.6%) and YES BANK (down 4.1%) are among the top losers today.
Over the last one year, BANK OF MAHARASHTRA has moved down from Rs 13 to Rs 13, registering a loss of Rs 0 (down 2.5%).
On the other hand, the BSE BANKEX has moved up from 28,611 to 34,501, registering a gain of 5,890 points (up 20.5%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE BANKEX Index stocks during this same period were KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 43.6%), ICICI BANK (up 32.7%) and HDFC BANK (up 30.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 40,435 (up 0.6%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are VEDANTA LTD (up 3.6%), TATA STEEL (up 3.2%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 1.8%). Other gainers include ICICI BANK (up 1.5%) and SBI (up 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TATA MOTORS and SBI.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,975 (up 0.7%). BHARTI INFRATEL (up 4.9%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 34,432 to 40,435, registering a gain of 6,003 points (up 17.4%).
BANK OF MAHARASHTRA Financial Update...
BANK OF MAHARASHTRA net profit declined 102.2% YoY to Rs 811 million for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 38 billion a year ago. Operating income rose 4.8% to Rs 27.7 billion during the period as against Rs 26.5 billion in April-June 2018.
For the year ended March 2019, BANK OF MAHARASHTRA reported 328.3% increase in net profit to Rs 47.6 billion compared to net profit of Rs 11.1 billion during FY18.
Revenue of the company grew 2.2% to Rs 108 billion during FY19.
The current Price to earnings ratio of BANK OF MAHARASHTRA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 1.0x.
