SAIL Surges by 5%; BSE METAL Index Up 1.4%

SAIL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 45.
Meanwhile, the BSE METAL Index is at 10,548 (up 1.4%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE METAL Index today is SAIL (up 5.0%).
COAL INDIA (down 0.7%) is among the top loser today.
Over the last one year, SAIL has moved down from Rs 56 to Rs 45, registering a loss of Rs 11 (down 19.0%).
On the other hand, the BSE METAL has moved down from 11,752 to 10,548, loss of 1,204 points (down 10.3%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE METAL Index stocks during this same period were NMDC LTD (up 36.0%) and JINDAL STEEL & POWER (up 5.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 41,479 (up 0.3%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA STEEL (up 2.1%), ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 1.9%) and L&T (up 1.0%). Other gainers include ICICI BANK (up 0.7%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 0.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are RELIANCE IND. and TATA STEEL.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,231 (up 0.3%). TATA STEEL (up 2.1%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,255 to 41,479, registering a gain of 5,224 points (up 14.3%).
SAIL Financial Update...
SAIL net profit down at Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended September 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 6 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 10.8% to Rs 141.3 billion during the period as against Rs 158.4 billion in July-September 2018.
For the year ended March 2019, SAIL reported 524.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 25.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.9 billion during FY18.
Revenue of the company grew 13.6% to Rs 670 billion during FY19.
The current Price to earnings ratio of SAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 23.0x.
