Indian Stock Market Updates February 5, 2020

HSIL LTD Plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.5%

HSIL LTD share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 51.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,762 (up 0.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are HSIL LTD (down 5.2%) and COCHIN SHIPYARD (down 7.9%).

CAPLIN POINT (up 11.9%) and SHRIRAM TRANSPORT (up 8.2%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, HSIL LTD has moved down from Rs 265 to Rs 51, registering a loss of Rs 214 (down 80.7%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,338 to 15,762, registering a gain of 1,424 points (up 9.9%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 476.1%), NIPPON LIFE INDIA AMC (up 176.0%) and GUJARAT GAS (up 132.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 41,024 (up 0.2%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are L&T (up 1.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ICICI BANK and BHARTI AIRTEL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,050 (up 0.3%). TATA MOTORS (up 7.5%) and YES BANK (up 6.2%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,583 to 41,024, registering a gain of 4,441 points (up 11.8%).

HSIL LTD Financial Update...

HSIL LTD net profit down at Rs 150 million for the quarter ended September 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 255 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 36.1% to Rs 4.7 billion during the period as against Rs 7.4 billion in July-September 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, HSIL LTD reported 12.9% decrease in net profit to Rs 702.0 million compared to net profit of Rs 806.0 million during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 18.6% to Rs 27 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HSIL LTD, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 3.8x.
