ASTRAZENECA PHARMA Surges by 6%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Down 0.4%

ASTRAZENECA PHARMA share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 2,723.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 14,347 (down 0.4%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today are ASTRAZENECA PHARMA (up 6.0%) and FDC LTD. (up 5.1%).

AJANTA PHARMA (down 0.1%) and PROCTER & GAMBLE HEALTH (down 0.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, ASTRAZENECA PHARMA has moved up from Rs 1,793 to Rs 2,723, registering a gain of Rs 929 (up 51.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE has moved up from 14,068 to 14,347, registering a gain of 279 points (up 1.1%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were GRANULES INDIA (up 85.8%), NARAYANA HRUDAYALAYA LTD (up 83.7%) and ABBOTT INDIA (up 79.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 41,172 (down 0.5%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TCS (up 1.1%), BAJAJ FINANCE (up 0.6%) and ICICI BANK (up 0.4%). Other gainers include HDFC (up 0.3%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 0.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ICICI BANK and TCS.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,104 (down 0.6%). UPL (up 4.6%) and TCS (up 1.0%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,971 to 41,172, registering a gain of 4,201 points (up 10.7%).

ASTRAZENECA PHARMA Financial Update...

ASTRAZENECA PHARMA net profit down at Rs 144 million for the quarter ended September 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 291 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 3.1% to Rs 2.1 billion during the period as against Rs 2.2 billion in July-September 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, ASTRAZENECA PHARMA reported 29.2% increase in net profit to Rs 259.0 million compared to net profit of Rs 200.0 million during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 4.3% to Rs 6 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ASTRAZENECA PHARMA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 90.8x.
