Indian Stock Market Updates February 14, 2020

VODAFONE IDEA Surges by 12%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.4%

VODAFONE IDEA share price has zoomed 12% and is presently trading at Rs 5.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,954 (up 0.4%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today is VODAFONE IDEA (up 11.6%).

D. B. CORP and JM FINANCIAL are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, VODAFONE IDEA has moved down from Rs 18 to Rs 5, registering a loss of Rs 13 (down 72.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved up from 14,088 to 15,954, registering a gain of 1,866 points (up 13.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 530.8%), NIPPON LIFE INDIA AMC (up 165.7%) and ICICI SECURITIES LTD (up 148.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 41,640 (up 0.4%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are NESTLE (up 1.1%), TITAN (up 0.9%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 0.9%). Other gainers include INDUSIND BANK (up 0.8%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (up 0.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and TATA STEEL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,232 (up 0.5%). YES BANK (up 3.5%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,034 to 41,640, registering a gain of 5,606 points (up 15.5%).

VODAFONE IDEA Financial Update...

VODAFONE IDEA net profit down at Rs 511 billion for the quarter ended September 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 50 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 7.8% to Rs 108.4 billion during the period as against Rs 117.6 billion in July-September 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, VODAFONE IDEA reported 248.6% increase in net profit to Rs 156.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 44.9 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 31.0% to Rs 370 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VODAFONE IDEA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 0.1x.
