JSW STEEL Surges by 5%; BSE METAL Index Up 3.2%

JSW STEEL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 247.
Meanwhile, the BSE METAL Index is at 8,352 (up 3.2%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE METAL Index today are JSW STEEL (up 5.0%) and VEDANTA LTD (up 5.4%).
Over the last one year, JSW STEEL has moved down from Rs 291 to Rs 247, registering a loss of Rs 44 (down 15.3%).
On the other hand, the BSE METAL has moved down from 11,210 to 8,352, loss of 2,858 points (down 25.7%) during the last 12 months.

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 38,716 (up 1.4%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are SUN PHARMA (up 5.5%), TATA STEEL (up 3.4%) and RELIANCE IND. (up 2.7%). Other gainers include ICICI BANK (up 2.6%) and M&M (up 2.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SUN PHARMA and SBI.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,317 (up 1.6%). VEDANTA LTD (up 5.9%) and ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 5.8%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,443 to 38,716, registering a gain of 2,273 points (up 6.1%).
JSW STEEL Financial Update...
JSW STEEL net profit down at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 16 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 11.1% to Rs 180.6 billion during the period as against Rs 203.2 billion in October-December 2018.
For the year ended March 2019, JSW STEEL reported 19.2% increase in net profit to Rs 75.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 63.4 billion during FY18.
Revenue of the company grew 15.8% to Rs 848 billion during FY19.
The current Price to earnings ratio of JSW STEEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 36.5x.
